The association annually presents more than 400 awards at its International
conference. These recognize overall merit, job performance, specialized client and veterans service, professional practices
and educational programs.
The South Carolina chapter annually solicits nominations for 11 different
awards. Nominations are accepted until December or January of each year and 2006 awards were presented during the annual chapter
conference held in Columbia, SC in April 2007. The awards and their criteria are listed below. If you have any questions,

Hall
of Fame
Nominees must be members of good standing
or in the case of a posthumous nomination, have been a member at the time of death. They must have actively participated and
promoted IAWP; demonstrated loyalty to the chapter; devoted time and efforts outside the normal realm of IAWP duties; inspired
fellow members in the performance of IAWP responsibilities; and maintained the ethical and professional standards of IAWP.
Also one of the following must have been satisfied: performed unselfishly in various capacities in IAWP and made sacrifices
in support of chapter activities through long and dedicated performance (minimum of 12 years membership); or developed and
instituted a dramatic innovation which has significantly benefited the chapter; or has brought national or international recognition
to the South Carolina chapter through outstanding achievement.

Award Of Merit
This award recognizes exceptional service in the area of workforce development. Service may include not only
job performance but also involvement in professional and community organizations. Contributions to the overall growth, development
and success of the chapter are also considered. There is an individual and a group award. Individual nominees must be IAWP
members during the current state chapter year, as well as the year in which the activity occurred. All of the major part of
the service to be considered must have occurred during the 2007 calendar year. Groups must have 66 percent IAWP membership.

Citation Award
The Citation Award recognizes individuals or businesses that have made outstanding contributions to IAWP or
the field of workforce development in SC or in the US. The contribution can include (but is not limited to) promotion of legislation;
performance of vocational training, disabled veterans or rehabilitation services; leadership in the betterment of working
conditions; or participation in educational programs aimed toward IAWP and personnel in workforce development. Nominees must
be public figures not employed by a workforce development entity.

Boyce Culp Unemployment Insurance (UI) Award of Excellence
Nominees must
have contributed significantly to the improvement and advancement of the Unemployment Insurance program in South Carolina.
This can be for a single accomplishment or a series of activities. Nominee must be and IAWP member during the current chapter
year as well as the year in which the activity occurred.
Award Chair: Iona Jenkins
Employee Performance Award
Nominees must have demonstrated outstanding, conscientious service through diligent, dependable
and trustworthy performance of duties. There are two awards: individual and group. Individuals must be IAWP members during
the current chapter year, as well as the year in which the activity occurred. For groups: 75 percent of the group must meet
the above membership requirements. Also, performance must have been demonstrated during calendar year 2007.

Specialized Customer Services
The award recognizes an outstanding innovative program of awareness, and further a specialized
segment of the workforce, including but not limited to vocational rehabilitation, welfare-to-work, people with disabilities
and youth. Individuals must be IAWP members during the current chapter year, as well as the year in which the activity occurred.
For groups: 66% of the group must meet the above membership requirements. Services must have occurred during 2007.

Retiree of the Year
A retiree who has provided voluntary efforts
to strengthen their chapter and/or workforce development programs. Examples of qualifying activities are fundraising, community
activities and membership recruitment. Nominees must be an IAWP member and a retiree during the entire nomination calendar
year (2007).

Bill Griffin Community Service Award
Nominees should have given time, talent, and service to an outstanding degree to benefit the
community. The nominee must be an IAWP member during the year of the activity and during the current chapter year. Service
must have occurred during 2007. In addition to a plaque, fifty dollars will be given, in the winner's name, to the organization
of his/her choice.

Charlie Enzor Hospitality Award
The purpose of
the Charlie Enzor Hospitality Award is to recognize a person or persons who have contributed significantly to the morale of
those involved in the workforce system through hospitable actions. This can be
for a single large accomplishment or for a series of activities. The traits of hospitality, welcoming spirit, warmth, kidness,
generosity, positive attitude, and humor, whidh were embodied in Charlie Enzor's contribution of the human touch to our workforce
system, are used as criteria inthe selection of a winner.

Service to Veterans Awards
Nominees are service delivery offices
or individuals who have provided exceptional service to veterans. Nominations should be based on activity in 2007. Awards
are given to recognize those who have done the most to assist veterans and promote interest in their rights in the workplace.
For groups: 66% of the group must meet membership requirements.

Administrator of the Year
The IAWP Administrator of the Year Award recognizes outstanding
public service in the support of workforce development. Achievements should include
one or more of the following:

Public Policy Award
The IAWP Public Policy Award recognizes an individual who performs outstanding public service
in support of workforce development programs and/or workforce personnel. It recognizes successfully sponsored enacted legislation
and/or implemented statewide or national policy that either improves the workforce system or benefits workforce development
personnel without negatively affecting either. This
is an individual award presented to a person who served in the legislative or executive branch of the US or state government
or in any other national or state policy-making role. The nominee does not need to be an IAWP member if nominated by one.

Award is a group award that recognizes the provision of outstanding workforce development services in a One-Stop setting. Achievements should include one or more of the following:
